Social Media Strategist

Location: Columbus, OH



Social Strategists at Mindstream Interactive are part of a cross-disciplinary team responsible for crafting and reporting on the exceptional brand experiences we create. Equal parts innovator, creative and analyist, they have a deep understanding of social media platforms as they exist today and are excited about following the evolution of social platforms and technologies into the future.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for leading, coaching, and collaborating with project teams from ideation through execution. This role requires proven agency experience within the social media space, with an emphasis on the strategy, setup, execution and optimization of paid and organic social media campaigns and community management. The role reports into our VP of Strategy and supports fellow Digital Strategists as needed.

You will oversee and execute social media strategies, guidelines, best practices, promotional campaigns and day-to-day activities while optimizing and monetizing our client’s presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and other relevant social media platforms.

We expect that you will be ready to jump into current projects, help to grow existing client relationships and fuel new business in Mindstream’s growing Social Media practice.


What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and contribute to social strategic recommendations and process
  • Track and vet emerging trends & opportunities, including partnerships, platforms, tools and competitive brand and executions
  • Provide pre-planning, coordination, leadership of, and strategic guidance for monthly and weekly content planning by multi-disciplinary teams (digital strategy, creative and media)
  • Direct, oversee and implement paid social media plans, including targeting and budget allocation, channel recommendations, and creative consultation to keep ad units performing across but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest
  • Educate and guide creative teams on content and social media best practices, across platforms and all forms of media
  • Create, manage and proofread written content with a focus on ensuring brand consistency of voice and tone, as well as exceptional storytelling
  • Support project estimation and new business efforts as it relates to Mindstream’s Social Media offering
  • Own social analytics reporting and insights. Identify channel best practices based on owned channels
  • Monitor, analyze and report monthly and weekly campaign performance, based on client metrics and reporting preferences
  • Plan, conduct, and report on social media listening data, inclusive of paid, owned and earned content and conversations using native or third-party tools
  • Analyze effective benchmarks for measuring impact of social media efforts in order to determine campaign effectiveness through relevant monitoring tools
  • Spot emerging trends in the social landscape and identify social consumption trends
  • Stay up-to-date in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Creation of one-pagers, decks and other requested documents as needed


What You Need To Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent preferred
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on practice creating impressive digital brand experiences in social media
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating social media in broader CX or Content Strategy programs
  • Proficient and recent knowledge of social Insights tools (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Sprout Social, Simply Measured, etc.)
  • Expert research capabilities and analytical skills, including the ability to draw insights from patterns seen in data
  • Enthusiasm for and understanding of digital trends and technologies, including familiarity with SEO and usability
  • Mindful of project timelines, client budgets, etc.
  • Great attitude; self-motivated; professional demeanor
  • Excellent and transparent communication style, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including expert Excel and PowerPoint skills
